Sherrie Sue Paulsmeyer

Sherrie Sue Paulsmeyer, age 64, of Chamois, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at her daughter’s residence in Columbia.

Sherrie was born on June 29, 1962, in Jefferson City, a daughter to the late Edward and Mary (Nilges) Dudenhoeffer.

She was a 1980 graduate of Linn High School.

On March 16, 2002, she was united in marriage to Roger Paulsmeyer at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Chamois. Roger survives at their home.

Sherrie was employed at St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City as a nurse’s aide when she graduated from high school. She then worked at a different daycare centers before starting Sherrie’s Daycare until she retired in 2020 because of her health. She cared and nurtured many children for her 30 plus years of caring for children. Children had a special place in her heart.

She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Chamois.

Sherrie was an accomplished singer, who also loved to crochet, drawing, looking at and taking pictures, reading, making jewelry, going on vacation out west and seeing the ocean. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and going to their sports events.

In addition to her husband of twenty four years, Sherrie is survived by her five children, Emily Hunter and her husband Mark of Columbia, Jessica Maxwell and her husband Stacy of Salisbury, Rebecca Helton and her husband Daniel of Eugene, Matthew Paulsmeyer and his wife Liza of Chamois, and Jonathan Stieferman and his wife Abbey of Eugene; seventeen grandchildren, Drake, Nolan, Quinn, Torin, Cassie, Hailey, Nathaniel, Hazel, Scarlett, Pearl, Ivy, Louis, Isaac, Lydia, Jackson, Jameson, and Ava; two sisters, Laura Adams and her husband Bill of Linn, Joyce Huster of St. Charles; two brothers, Steven Dudenhoeffer of Linn, and Edward Dudenhoeffer and his wife Debbie of Osage City; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, Sherrie was preceded in death by two angel grandbabies.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Chamois with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jason Hilkerbaumer officiating.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. John’s United Church of Christ, Tunnel2Towers, or Friends of the Chamois Cemetery.
