Shirley Sue Scheulen, age 69 of Rich Fountain, passed away Friday, July 2, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Sue was born on September 23, 1951, in Loveland, CO., a daughter to the late Floyd and Ethel Mae (Tennyson) Matthews.
Sue attended Grand Junction High School in Grand Junction, CO.
On December 27, 1986, she was united in marriage to Paul A. Scheulen at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain. He survives of the home.
Sue was employed at Maytag and Scholastic in Jefferson City.
Sue enjoyed NASCAR races, going to the river, driving around, helping on the family farm, playing Criminal Case on the computer, fishing, bowling, watching the hummingbirds and wildlife. Sue loved nature whether it was on the farm or the mountains in Colorado. Her greatest love came from spending time with her family and always looked forward to visits from her grandchildren.
In addition to her spouse of 34 years, Sue is survived by: one son, Nathan and his wife Sarah Martinez of Miami, FL.; two daughters, Jennifer Hueste of Linn and Sarah Oliver and her husband Michael of Rich Fountain; eight grandchildren, Mikey, Benjamin, and Allis Oliver, Amber and Andy Hueste, and Cole, Beau and Katie Martinez; two brothers, Wayne Matthews and his wife Patricia of Denver, CO and Joe Matthews of Moab, UT; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by a son, Jon Paul “J.P.” Scheulen and three sisters, Anne, Florence, and Judy; and one brother, Bob Matthews.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Fr. William Debo officiating.
