Stanley J. Thoenen

Stanley J. Thoenen, age 58 of Linn, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at his brother's residence near Linn.

Stanley was born August 15, 1956, in Jefferson City, a son to Wilfred and Mary Lou (Linnenbrink) Thoenen. They survive of Linn.

Stanley attended St. George School and was a 1974 graduate of Linn High School.

He was employed at ABB in Jefferson City for over 35 years and was a member of UAW #2379.

Stanley was a member of St. George Catholic Church and the Rich Fountain Knights of Columbus Council #10690.

Stanley was a huge sports fan, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and the Missouri Tigers.

He enjoyed playing softball and traveling and like listening to all kinds of music. His favorite was the Lynyrd Skynyrd Band. Stanley was also an avid dog lover.

In addition to his parents, Stanley is survived by: two brothers, Tim Thoenen and his wife Connie of Linn, and Wayne Thoenen and his wife Donna of Taos; two sisters, Cindy Stegeman of Loose Creek, and Wanda Fowler and her husband Carl of Linn; fourteen nieces and nephews, Doug and Sheila Kleffner, Shelly and Cassie Stegeman, Katie Stegeman and her fiancAC. Alex Neuner, Christy Muehlhausen and Chris Wolfe, Amy Thomas, Sam Thoenen, Sarah and Trevor Cassity, Zach Fowler, Will Thoenen, Kristal, Mary, Jacob and Forrest Schaefer; along with several great nieces and nephews and his dog Molly.

Stanley was preceded in death by one sister, Vicky Schaefer and special friend, Vicki Rakes-Meeks.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at St. George Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Merz as celebrant.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the St. George School or the American Cancer Society.
