Sue Whitehurse

Zona Sue ""Suzanne"" Whitehurse, age 59, of Boonville, formerly of Linn, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2010, at the University Hospital in Columbia.

Sue was born February 11, 1951, in St. Louis to the late Harry Hovis and Ruby (Hader) Maddox.

Sue was a 1969 graduate of Eugene High School. She was employed at Bloomers Flowers and Gifts in Columbia as a floral designer for several years.

Sue was a member of Pilot Grove Baptist Church and was an active volunteer for Second Chance of Columbia, a privately funded, all volunteer, animal rescue organization. She enjoyed flowers and gardening and was an avid animal lover.

Sue is survived by: one daughter, Lana Whitehurse and her partner Jason Eitelbach of Austin, TX; her step-father, John A. Maddox of Linn; three brothers, John W. and his wife Victoria Maddox of Chamois, Arthur L. and Travis A. Maddox both of Linn; five sisters, Grace Williams and her husband Kenneth of Elkland, Betty Rutledge of Jefferson City, Hope Maddox and Nancy Jennings both of Linn and Janice Riley of Swiss, well as nieces,a nephew and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 15, 2010, at Morton Chapel in Linn followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m.
