Sylvester “Butch” C. Brandt, Jr., age 76, of Linn Creek, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at his residence.
Butch was born on April 29, 1950, in Rich Fountain, a son to the late Sylvester Brandt, Sr., and Theresa (Stumpe) Brandt.
He was a 1968 graduate of Fatima High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during Vietnam.
On August 10, 1973, Butch was united in marriage to Jeanette Francis Walsch at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Folk. Jeanette preceded him in death on July 8, 2010. He was united in marriage again on September 28, 2024, to Sandy Robinson at their home in Linn Creek. Sandy survives at their home.
He was employed as a machinist for ABB in Jefferson City until he retired.
Butch was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain.
Butch enjoyed being outdoors either hunting, fishing, boating, gardening, yardwork, traveling, and making crafts. He was also great storyteller and in his earlier years he raised chickens and rabbits. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of one and half years, Butch is survived by his children, Brian Brandt of Linn, Eric Brandt of Holts Summit, Jessica (Doug) Lammers of Holts Summit, and Shaun (Megan) Brandt of Jefferson City; his bonus children, Gina Madrigal of the State of Illinois and Rebecca Paputsa of the State of Illinois; fifteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four sisters, Eileen (Leon) Koenigsfeld of Frankenstein, Shirley (Paul) Morfeld of Westphalia, Debbie (Donnie) Haslag of Linn, and Darlene (Duane) Fennewald of Westphalia; along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents and first wife of thirty-six years, Butch was preceded in death by two grandsons, Logan Brandt and Blade Lammers; bonus son, Gregory Gilbert; one brother, Randy Brandt and three infant brothers
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. William D. Debo as the Celebrant. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Sacred Heart Endowment Fund.
