Terry Ray Ames, age 68 of Chamois, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017, at his residence.

Terry was born March 20, 1949, in Chamois, a son to the late Harry and Dorothy (Walker) Ames.

Terry was a 1967 graduate of Mokane High School and received his automotive training at Linn Tech.

On June 27, 1981, Terry was united in marriage to Kim Riegel in Chamois. She survives of Chamois.

Terry worked as a mechanic and enjoyed cars, barbecuing, watching TV and spending time with family.

In addition to his wife Kim, Terry is survived by: three sons, Vincent Ames of Belle, Craig Ames of Bland and Nathan Ames and his wife Amy of Bonnots Mill; two daughters, Vickie Ames of Belle and Heidi Ames of Chamois; one sister Debra Gilbert of Springfield as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Isabella Ames.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 18, 2017, at Morton Chapel in Chamois.


Private family burial will be in the Shirley Mint Hill Cemetery.
