Viola Christine Boehm

Viola C. Boehm, age 87 of Rich Fountain, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Westphalia Hills Nursing Home.

 

Viola was born February 17, 1930, in Westphalia, a daughter to the late Alphonse and Clara (Luebbert) Schneider.

 

She attended the Winkelman School in Westphalia. 

 

On October 1, 1949, she was united in marriage to Felix L. Boehm in Westphalia.  He preceded her in death on January 24, 2012.

 

Viola was a homemaker and helped Felix on the family farm.  In 1978 she went to work at Sears in Jefferson City where she was employed for ten years.

 

Viola was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain, Jolly Workers Club, Funeral Meal Chairperson, Picnic and Fall Supper Chairman, Dining Room Chairman, Social Concerns Chairman, Blood Drive Chairman for the American Red Cross, Ladies Sodality, Cemetery Committee, and was the Founder and President of the Rich Fountain Sewing Circle.  

 

She enjoyed gardening, canning, playing pinnacle, bingo, quilting, and spending time with her family. 

 

Viola is survived by:  five sons, Bob (Ann) Boehm of Rich Fountain, Richard “Dick” (Bev) Boehm of Jefferson City, Jim “Porky” (Debbie) Boehm of Rich Fountain, Steve (Joyce) Boehm of Rich Fountain, and Bill (Agnes) Boehm of Rich Fountain; one daughter, Pat (Dale) Stuckenschneider of Westphalia; one sister, Mary (Stephen “Tip”) Weber of Westphalia; 19 grandchildren, Troy Boehm, Mandy Boehm, Jesse Boehm, Joy Peal, Elizabeth Russell, Travis Wunderlich, Travis Stuckenschneider, Julie Jaegers, Jerri Ann Wildhaber, Aaron, Nathan, Zach, Lexi, and Noah Boehm, Kaitlyn Jaegers, Larisa Boehm, Derek, Kelsey, and Shaina Boehm; 26 great grandchildren, Chelsey Hedges, Wade, Brooks and Kash Boehm, Alexia, Madison and Lilly Peal, Nolan, Colin, Korbin and Ethan Wunderlich, Paige, Jordan and Larah Russell, Hank, Trent and Mack Stuckenschneider, Cole, Nate and Grace Jaegers, Aiden, Eva and Brie Wildhaber, Kaiden Boehm, Reagan Verhoff   and Kale Morgan; one great great grandchild, Jocelyn Hedges; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

 

In addition to her parents and spouse of 62 years, Viola was preceded in death by: a sister, Adeline “Lonnie” Wallace; one brother, George Schneider; and one granddaughter, Megan Boehm.


Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 31, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Fr. William Debo as the celebrant.  Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Family of  Viola Boehm  for the purchase of a statue of Mary to be placed in front of the Sacred Heart school.
