Wanda Rose Vitale, age 79 of Linn, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017, at SSM Health St. Mary’s in Jefferson City surrounded by her loving family.

Wanda was born December 8, 1937, in St. Louis, a daughter to the late Henry Lee and Eva May (Jones) Bess.

Wanda was a graduate of Berkley High School in St. Louis.

On June 13, 1959, she was united in marriage to Gerald Vitale in St. Louis. He survives of the home.

Wanda was a homemaker and a member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn.

She enjoyed fishing, camping, sewing, the St. Louis Cardinals and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of 57 years, she is survived by: one step-son, Glennon Vitale and his wife Sherry of Evergreen, CO; two daughters, Sharrel Grotelueschen and her husband Paul of Round Springs, IL, and Karen Redmond and her husband Jim of Farmington; twelve grandchildren, Jennifer, Krista, Kacee, Michael, Kayla, Paul Jr., Andrew, Erik, Jon, Kortney, Kim, and Bethany; twelve great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews including a niece Roberta Zimmerman and her husband Mark.

In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by: one step-son, Jeffrey Vitale; one brother, Robert Lee Bess; and two sisters, Dolores Overy and Nancy Bess.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Morton Chapel in Linn.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2017, at Morton Chapel in Linn with Fr. I.C. Medina officiating. Interment will be in the Linn Public Cemetery.
