Wilfred Casper Luebbert, age 86, of Jefferson City, formerly of Rich Fountain, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Heisinger Bluffs in Jefferson City.
Wilfred was born on May 13, 1939, in Elsberry, a son to the late Lawrence and Clementine Brandt Luebbert.
He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Rich Fountain and was a 1957 graduate of Fatima High School.
On June 11, 1960, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Wibberg at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein. Evelyn survives in Jefferson City.
Wilfred was the manager of the MFA store in Linn for over forty years.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain, where he enjoyed playing Santa at the school, helping at the parish fish fries, making cinnamon rolls and making his famous cherry cheesecake.
Wilfred enjoyed taking care of flowers, working in his garden, quilting with Evelyn and coloring in his adult coloring book. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of 65 years, Wilfred is survived by one son, Wilfred (Ronda) Luebbert, Jr., of Springfield; four daughters, Sandy (John) Starke of Westphalia, Suzy (Ed) Schneider of Jefferson City, Sharon (Walter) Barnhouse of Jefferson City, and Mary (Tom) Clark of Linn; thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one brother, Bill (Pat) Luebbert of Sandston, VA.; two sisters, Dorothy Dresel of Freeburg and Clara (Maurice) Kremer of Rich Fountain; sister-in-law, Mildred Luebbert of Linn; along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Wilfred was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Luebbert and Lawrence “Larry” Luebbert, Jr.; and one sister, Delores Rustemeyer.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. William Debo as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery.
