Beulah Mae (Helmig) Laughlin, age 78 of Linn, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at her home.
Beulah was born January 28, 1942, daughter of the late Bernadine Elvina (Wolfe) Helmig and Robert Earl Helmig.
Beulah was a 1960 graduate of Linn High School.
On February 20, 1960, she was united in marriage to Daniel Lee Laughlin. He survives of their home.
Beulah was an active Christian baptized in her youth at Solid Rock Baptist Church where she served as music director, home bound Sunday School teacher, Youth Sunday School teacher, GA leader, Vacation Bible School, and financial clerk. She was a member of Linn First Baptist Church.
Beulah was a Girl Scout leader for 12 years and a member of the Heart of Missouri Girl Scout council, where she also served on the Wider Opportunity Girl Scout Task Force. She was a charter member and membership chair of the Osage County Country Club. Beulah was a member of the Eastern Star where she served as Star Point Electa, Conductress, Worthy Matron, and secretary/treasurer. She was also a member of the Osage County Garden Club since 2006 where she served as treasurer and historian. She was a charter member of the Osage County Squares where she served as treasurer.
Beulah worked at Linn Manufacturing for 3 years (1968-1971), at the Linn Post Office as a clerk for 6 months, at Mosby print shop for 11 years (retired in 2008), and as
Public Water District #3 Osage County bookkeeper for 33 years.
Beulah’s hobbies included flower gardening, sewing, Linn basketball fan, watching Regina perform, and swimming. Beulah was a people person and never met a stranger.
In addition to her husband of 60 years, Beulah is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law: Ramona Pratte (Bill) of Desloge, MO, Rebecca Luebbering (Gary) of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Regina Laughlin of Sevierville, TN; five grandchildren: Christopher Pratte of Park Hills, MO, Michael Pratte (Jennelle) of Bonne Terre, MO, Jessica Barnes (Kurt) of Columbia, MO, Emily Luebbering of Salida, CO, Madeline Luebbering of Columbia, MO; and four great-grandchildren: Violet Pratte, Cohen Pratte, Sutton Pratte, and Garrett Barnes; two sisters-in-law: Mary Lou Helmig and Pat Helmig; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer Helmig and Clyde Helmig and one sister, Bonnie Davis.
Beulah’s family would like to greatly thank Hospice Compassus for the care they provided Beulah and the help they gave to the family.
Private Family Visitation and Funeral Service were held at First Baptist Church in Linn with Rev. David Krueger and Rev. Perry Wolfe officiating. Interment was in the Fairview Church of Christ Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
