Obituary

Cliff E. Thomeczek, age 63 of Linn, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2020, on the family farm.

Cliff was born December 12, 1956, in Jefferson City, a son to the late Maurice “Fritz” and Marcella (Rustemeyer) Thomeczek.

Cliff was a 1975 graduate of Linn High School and a 1980 graduate of Lincoln University earning a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture.  He served his country in the United States Army.

On February 4, 1978, he was united in marriage to Connie Dobsch at Community Christian Church in Linn.  She survives at their home.

Cliff served as a Service Man for Butterball Turkey for 32 years, retiring in May of 2014.

He was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Linn where he served on various boards and committees.  Cliff served on the Linn RII School Board as President and Treasurer.  He volunteered with FFA, Boy Scout Merit Badge, judged poultry at the Osage County Fair, and was a member of Linn Young Farmers.

Cliff was a simple man and lived by the phrase “make it last, wear it out, make do or do without”.  He always wanted to do good for someone else.  He was proud of working on the family farm being the 3rd generation to do so and he loved his Farmall B tractor.  Cliff loved running his chainsaw, making great wine, and telling funny stories.   His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his spouse of 42 years, Cliff is survived by: two sons, Logan Thomeczek and his wife Rachel of Bennington, NE and Kevin Thomeczek and his wife Jessica of Linn; one daughter, Cindy Sieg and her husband Joe of Linn; four grandchildren, Faith Sue Haley, Wren Marcella Thomeczek, and Easton Barrett and Everly Jean Thomeczek; six brothers, Mark (Pam) Thomeczek of Columbia, Frank Thomeczek of Columbia, Steve (Sheila) Thomeczek of Columbia, Lee (Cindy) Thomeczek of Linn, Matt (Lisa) Thomeczek of Linn, and Andrew (Shirley) Thomeczek of Loraine, IL; three sisters, Christy (Don) Brandt of Linn, Ellen Larson of Overland Park, KS, and Laurie (Les) Holmes of Kansas City, MO; one sister-in-law, Stephania (Bill) Abshier of DeSoto; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
