Gertha Mae Buscher, 96, of Jefferson City, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehab Center.

Gertha was born on August 29, 1923, in Osage County, a daughter to the late Eliga and Georgia Ann (Hillard) Nichols. 

Gertha attended school in rural Osage County. 

On May 9, 1944, in Linn, she was united in marriage to Rudolph Fred Buscher, he preceded her in death on December 23, 2004.

Gertha enjoyed quilting and sewing.

She is survived by two sons, Virgil Buscher of Chamois and Gary Buscher and his wife Tonya of Holts Summit; five daughters, Patricia Maxwell and her husband Denny of Santa Fe, Bercina Garstang and her husband Gene of Chamois, Terena Schaefer and her husband Mike of Carrollton, Phyllis Bennett and her husband Keith of Holts Summit and Sandra Buscher of Jefferson City; fourteen grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and spouse of 59 years, Gertha was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Suzie Buscher, 6 brothers and 4 sisters.

Private Family Graveside Service and Interment was held at the Shirley Mint Hill Cemetery near Chamois.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice Compassus.
