Gloria Shockley, 82, of Chamois, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at Captial Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
Gloria was born on October 18, 1937, in Linn, a daughter to the late Leo and Mary (Love) Pearon.
Gloria was a 1955 graduate of Linn High School.
On May 29, 1955, she was united in marriage to Cletus Shockley in Mint Hill. Cletus preceded her in death on August 11, 1987.
Gloria was employed at Westinghouse in Jefferson City, she and Cletus owned and operated Clete’s Café in Chamois and she later retired from the Morrison Apparel Factory.
Gloria was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chamois and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #506.
Gloria was an avid reader and St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, playing bingo and her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Gloria is survived by her four daughters, Linda Duncan of Chamois, Charlotte Townley and her husband Glen of Chamois, Beverly Backes and her husband Tim of Frankenstein and Ellen Nichols and her husband Lindell of Chamois; a Grandson she raised, Dustin Shockley and his wife Jennifer of Chamois; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Fredrich of Linn; two brothers, Ernie Pearon and his wife Pam of California and Donnie Pearon and his wife Caroline of Linn; a sister-in-law, Fern Shockley of Union as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents and spouse of 32 years, Gloria was preceded in death by: her daughter, Janet Shockley, a grandson, Jonathon Duncan, a great grandson Anthony Sieg, son-in-law, Dave Duncan; sister, Freda Hilgert and a brother, Ivan Pearon.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at Morton Chapel in Chamois with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Shirley Mint Hill Cemetery.
Visitation and service are open to the public. However, while in the chapel please practice social distancing and refrain from hugging or handshaking. Masks are suggested but not mandatory. Thanks for your cooperation.
