Irene Johanna Kliethermes

Irene Johanna Kliethermes, age 93 of Loose Creek, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Adams Street Nursing Home in Jefferson City.

Irene was born June 21, 1927, in Osage City, a daughter to the late Jack and Theckla (Koetting) Keefe.

She attended the Cadet Creek School in Osage County.

On July 17, 1946, she was united in marriage to Clifford Kliethermes at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek.  He preceded her in death on March 4, 1988.

Irene was a homemaker and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek, St. Ann’s Sodality, Quilting Club, a past choir member, Red Hatters Club, the Senior Bowling Club, Knight of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and VFW Post #4756 Ladies Auxiliary.

She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, bowling and quilting in her own home doing 12-15 quilts a year.

Survivors include her eight children, Darlene (Joe) Brandt of Loose Creek, Linda (Johnny) Baskett of Yukon, OK, Judy (Norman) Muenks of Loose Creek, Janice “Jennie” Brand of Taos, Joan (Russell) Prenger of Vienna, William “Bill” (Sheila) Kliethermes of Westphalia, Russell Kliethermes of Hesperia, CA, and Patty (Rick) Hays of Loose Creek; 24 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and spouse of 41 years, Irene was preceded in death by: two sons, Richard “Rick” and Clifford “Randy” Kliethermes; two grandsons, three great grandchildren, one son-in-law, and her siblings.

Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek.  

Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Anthony Rinaldo as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery.
