Rosemary “Rosie” Voss, age 83 of Linn, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at the University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia surrounded by her loving family.
Rosie was born on October 19, 1937, in Loose Creek, a daughter to the late Bill and Helen (Vaughn) Scheulen.
She was a 1955 graduate of Linn High School.
On May 15, 1957, she was united in marriage to Matt Voss at St. George Catholic Church. He survives at the family farm.
Rosie was a homemaker and worked on their dairy farm with her husband raising their six children.
Rosie had been a member of St. George Catholic Church all her life, having received her First Communion, Confirmation and graduated from St. George School. She was also a member of St. Ann’s Sodality, Sewing Circle, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and McDonald’s Bingo Club.
Rosie enjoyed playing cards, marbles, Yahtzee, and bingo. She also enjoyed ceramics, quilting and sewing making many beautiful quilts for her family. She was known for her famous cinnamon rolls and panas. Rosie had a “servants’ heart” always putting other people before herself.
In addition to her spouse of 63 years, Rosie is survived by: six children, Colleen Kliethermes and her husband Ralph of Belle, Steve Voss and his wife Doris of Linn, Matt “Sonny” Voss of Wentzville, Diana Foster and her husband Danny of Linn, Ronald Voss and his wife Lara of Linn, and Douglas Voss and his wife Brenda of Lohman; 22 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren with one on the way; a sister-in-law, Kris Scheulen of Loose Creek; a step-mother, Eleanor Scheulen of Loose Creek; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: one brother, Richard Scheulen; one sister, JoAnn Nilges; and one brother-in-law, Lonnie Nilges.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn.
Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. Colin Franklin and Fr. Daniel Merz as Concelebrants. Interment will be in the St. George Parish Cemetery.
